April Showers ??????

The weather - excuse me???? All I can say is, there'd better be a LOT of "May flowers" for me to photograph next month after this ridiculous monsoon we're having at the moment - and those of you who are my friends on Facebook will see I have apologised for the weather today, feeling personally responsible for it - we bought a new gas BBQ a few weeks ago and the weather literally turned the day it was delivered !

But we haven't let the rain spoil our weddings ! Oh no !!! And my, we've had a few recently ! Many couples were inspired by the mini heatwave we had this time last year, making April our third busiest month of the year this year.

Group hug for the Dhara, Luke,
bridesmaid and two best men !
My last blog entry saw me prepping for Luke & Dhara's wedding at The Mercure Bowden Hall - and what a lovely day that was. The weather was  UNPREDICTABLE, I'll concede. At one point during the civil ceremony we had glaring sunshine then literally a minute later, hailstones banging on the windows so we could barely hear the registrar - then a minute later again..... sunshine !

Emma being dressed by
her maids !
Easter Weekend dawned and again we looked fearfully to the skies.... no rain that day for Emma & Sam's lovely wedding but by GOD it was cold and windy ! We started the day at stunning Heythrop Park where Emma was getting ready with her bridesmaids, and after a beautiful service at the church of St Mary The Virgin, Charlbury we ended the day at Ryehill Golf Club where the happy couple arrived in style by helicopter ! My amazing assistant Cat stepped up to her Superwoman role at this wedding as there was a potential disaster with the dress as some stitching came undone minutes after Emma put it on - five minutes later Cat was sat at Emma's feet like the Tailor of Gloucester, restitching her dress :-)  I really don't pay her enough do I ?

Shane thanks Helen for being his bride
during his speech - the whole room
went "aaaaahhhhhhh"

On Saturday 21st Cat and I were off to Helen & Shane's wedding in the pretty cotswold village of Northleach. Again, the weather decided to show us all it's tricks in the space of one day - funniest moment in the church being the vicar illuminated by a shaft of sunlight, giving us HIS definition of one of the service's biblical readings - the sky darkened, the ray of light disappeared and as the vicar finished speaking there was an enormous clap of thunder to which he looked skywards and said "No, I think you'll find that definition is correct". We managed to dodge the raindrops successfully again at this wedding - but Helen had packed her Hunter wellies anyway so we had all bases covered in the event of more rain !

Mark & Charlotte tap into their
"inner child" !
Yesterday we were at the Holiday Inn, Cheltenham for the wedding of Charlotte & Mark.
Super Assistant Cat once again saved the day when time started to run away for the bridal party and she added "dressing bridesmaids, sorting cravats and styling bridesmaids hair" to her job description !
Despite our fears about the weather it stayed dry for us and we managed to get out briefly in the biting wind for some photos (before poor Charlotte went blue with the cold !).
As you can see from the pic on the right, I wouldn't let them walk past the kiddies play park unscathed !

And so we look forward to another busy week ahead for Team Blenheim ! Tomorrow, myself and the lovely Adam from Adam Huckle Films are off to London for a very exciting meeting - it's still all a bit hush-hush but we'll be reporting here and on Facebook as soon as things are official.

And next weekend we have another Bank Holiday weekend and with it, I have THREE weddings ! Gemma & David on Saturday 5th at Birtsmorton Court, Graeme and Zoe on Sunday 6th at Tortworth Court and Chris & Suzanne at Clearwell Castle on Monday 7th ! One can only imagine the tea I'm going to get through preparing for THAT weekend !

On which note.... my mug appears to be empty.......
